The Affidavit for Transfer of Exemption to Spouse (VP-259) allows a veteran to transfer the Governmental Services Tax exemption to their current spouse. The veteran must file the affidavit annually with DMV along with the exemption voucher issued by the County Assessor. Signatures must be original, and the affidavit must be executed in front of a notary or DMV representative.
