Frequently Asked Questions

What does the NVL-019 Declaration of Responsibility do for an insurance lapse, and will it waive my fees?

NVL-019 is your sworn declaration that you’ll maintain Nevada-required liability insurance so the DMV can reinstate a registration suspended for an insurance lapse. It does not erase amounts due—you’ll still pay applicable reinstatement fees/fines, and longer or repeat lapses can trigger an SR-22 requirement and a minimum driver license suspension on a third offense.
