Client-Directed Nevada Financial Power of Attorney Preparation
Lake Mead Mobile Notary prepares Nevada durable financial powers of attorney for customers who have already decided that they want to appoint an agent and can provide their selections concerning authority, successor agents, timing, and special instructions.
Nevada provides a statutory financial power-of-attorney form under NRS Chapter 162A. The document allows a principal to authorize another person to act concerning selected financial, property, business, benefits, retirement, tax, and related matters. It does not authorize health-care decisions, which require a separate document.
Lake Mead Mobile Notary prepares the customer-selected document using information and decisions supplied by the customer. We do not decide whether a power of attorney should be created, who should serve as agent, or which powers should be granted.

Before You Start
Choose the Agent and Authority Before Preparation
The principal must decide who will serve as agent, which powers will be granted, when the authority will begin, and whether any special limitations or instructions are needed.
Lake Mead Mobile Notary cannot recommend:
- Who should serve as agent
- Whether co-agents should be appointed
- Which financial powers should be granted
- Whether authority should begin immediately or later
- Whether gifting authority should be included
- Whether a prior power of attorney should be revoked
- How the document may affect property, taxes, benefits, estate planning, creditors, or legal rights
- Whether a bank, lender, title company, government agency, or other recipient will accept the document
Questions requiring legal judgment, estate-planning recommendations, tax advice, asset analysis, or interpretation of rights should be directed to an attorney or other qualified professional.
Matters Requiring Additional Review
Additional review or attorney referral may be appropriate when the request involves:
- Extensive or customized special instructions
- Multiple agents or unusual co-agent arrangements
- Authority to make substantial gifts
- Trust creation, amendment, or interpretation
- Transfers benefiting the agent
- Complex business or investment authority
- Real estate transactions with lender or title-company requirements
- Conflicting or uncertain prior powers of attorney
- Disputed family or financial circumstances
- Out-of-state property or intended use
- A principal whose ability to understand and approve the document is uncertain
- Execution in a hospital, nursing facility, assisted-living setting, or residential-care environment
Nevada law imposes additional execution considerations in certain care-facility circumstances, including competency-certification requirements in specified settings. Those requirements must be reviewed before scheduling the signing.
Execution and Notarization
The Nevada statutory financial power-of-attorney form includes a notarial acknowledgment and states that it is not valid unless acknowledged before a notary public. Notarization is not included in the starting preparation price unless expressly added to the confirmed order.
The principal must personally understand and willingly approve the document. A notary cannot proceed when the signer is unwilling, unable to communicate consent, or appears unable to understand the act being performed.
